Daiza

Daiza (AKA Danielle Thwaites) is an electronica producer, musician, and songwriter currently based in LA. Originally from the Dallas area, Thwaites grew up creating her own songs as a child just learning to write. It wasn’t until her time at the Berklee College of Music where she began to get her stride as a producer while studying Electronic Production and Design. Her love of experimentation and her distinctive writing style gave birth to the persona Daiza.
 
Her first several releases gained strong appreciation from listeners and tastemakers alike, resulting in thousands of listens and features on several blogs. After her relocation to Los Angeles in September, Daiza was soon to be recognized for her talent by acclaimed blog The Deli, and was subsequently chosen as their Aritst to Watch just three months after her move. The article comments on Daiza’s ability “[to transform] the imagery of her music into what she is feeling, creating a dark, twisted and fascinating story inside [the listener’s] head.”
 
Daiza’s production approach, which has been compared to producers like FKA Twigs and Grimes, showcases an inherent balance between aggression and tenderness.
