Nathan Owen
Nathan Owen
Nathan Owen, former frontman and songwriter of the band Owenstone, decided he needed to find and reform a new sound, blending big vocals, evocative lyrics, vintage and modern synths, and live instruments, a sound that aims to make the listener dance, think and feel something a little different, often borrowing sounds and synths from his favorite science fiction film scores from directors like Ridley Scott, John Carpenter and Stanley Kubrick.
With half of his career spent in the film industry as an actor and set designer, he never shy'd away from directing his own music videos which sometimes took months of preparation, but this most recent video for “Things We Left Below” was inspired during a trip to New Orleans, and he assembled a tiny crew and shot it a few days later.
With Owenstone, Nathan toured the West coast, as well as New Orleans, SXSW and the Desert Daze Festival. Supporting the release of his first two singles as a solo artist, he has played at The Echo, The Satellite and the Echo Park Rising music festival, with drummer Parker McCabe and bassist Harry Foster, and more show dates to be announced for fall.
